Holding a PhD (or have submitted your thesis before taking up the role) in Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or a closely allied discipline; you will have expertise and experience of developing and applying mathematical models in Systems Biology, carrying out computational simulations, and linking models with data.

Job Description

Research Fellow in Mathematical Modelling of Infection

    • Contribute to the development of an integrated mathematical model of viral replication, transmission, pathogenesis, and immune control for swine influenza and coronaviruses.
    • Collaborate with international partners, including mathematical modellers, statisticians, immunologists, and virologists.
    • Use stochastic and deterministic approaches to develop computational tools for parametrising mathematical models with experimental data.
    • Work in an inter-disciplinary environment in the Mathematical Immunology group at the School of Mathematics, Leeds.

The employment

Fixed Term (12 months – to complete specific time-limited work).

Salary

£37,099 to £44,263 p.a. Due to funding restrictions, an appointment will not be made higher than £38,205 p.a.
