Education Qualification

- A doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and solid training and expertise in molecular biology, cell culture, and gene expression methods appropriate for this project
- The doctoral degree may not have been completed more than five years ago at the time of accepting the position (a net period of time, which does not include parental leaves, military service, etc.). If the person to be appointed has received a doctoral researcher more than five years ago, the position will be filled as a Project Researcher.
- Solid experience in the use of hepatic and intestinal cell models (e.g., primary hepatocytes, HepG2, HepaRG, Caco-2) and reporter gene assays or RNA sequencing will be considered an advantage. Please indicate the specific use of these models and techniques in your application by citing a publication or manuscript in your motivation letter.
- Excellent skills in oral and written English. English is used as the language of instruction and supervision in this position
- Proficient computer and data management skills
- An independent approach to doing research
Job Description
The Postdoctoral Researcher/Project Researcher will work within the EU-funded NEMESIS consortium, focusing on developing biomarkers for metabolic disruptors. The role involves utilizing nuclear receptor-based reporter assays to measure dose-response activation of receptors by metabolism-disrupting compounds. The candidate will also study the effects of biotransformation of these compounds in cell lines expressing cytochrome P450 enzymes and analyze the impact on hepatic receptor target gene expression.
The employment
The position is filled for a fixed term until December 31, 2026, and the salary is determined according to the Finnish universities’ salary system.
