Education Qualification
General Duty (GD) –
- Should hold a Bachelor degree of recognised university with minimum 60% aggregate marks.
- Mathematics and Physics as subject upto Intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. The Applicants who have completed graduation after diploma, are also eligible, provided they should possess an aggregate of 55% marks in diploma with physics and mathematics in its curriculum.
Technical (Mechanical) –
- Should hold an Engineering Graduate of recognized university in Naval Architecture or Mechanical or Marine or Automotive or Mechatronics or Industrial and Production or Metallurgy or Design or Aeronautical or Aerospace with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent Educational qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
- Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. - Should hold an Engineering Graduate of recognized university in Electrical or Electronics or Telecommunication or Instrumentation or Instrumentation and Control or Electronics and Communication or Power Engineering or Power Electronics with minimum 60% aggregate marks. OR Equivalent qualification in any of the above disciplines recognised by the Institutes of the Engineers (India) as exempted from section ‘A’ and ‘B’ and their associate membership examination (AMIE).
- Mathematics and Physics as subject upto intermediate or class XII of 10+2+3 scheme of education or equivalent with minimum 55% aggregate marks in Mathematics and Physics. While determining the minimum percentage of marks for eligibility, only the original whole number (without rounding off) of the percentage shall be taken into account. Fractional value shall not be considered for determining eligibility. E.g. UR/OBC candidates scoring 59.9% or SC/ ST candidate scoring 54.9% in degree are not eligible.
Age Limit
General Duty (GD) – 21-25 years as on 01.07.2024 i.e. born between 01.07.1999 & 30.06.2003 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard or equivalent personnel in Army/Navy/Air Force)
Technical (Mechanical) – 21-25 years as on 01.07.2024 i.e. born between 01.07.1999 & 30.06.2003 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
Technical (Electrical/ Electronics) – 21-25 years as on 01.07.2024 i.e. born between 01.07.1999 & 30.06.2003 (Both dates inclusive). (05 Years relaxation for personnel serving in Coast Guard)
Upper age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC (non-creamy layer) candidates are applicable only if the posts are reserved for them.

How to Apply for ICG Assistant Commandant Recruitment 2024
(a) Applications will be accepted only ‘ONLINE’ from 19 Feb 2024 (1100 Hrs) to 06 Mar 2024 (1730 Hrs). The candidates are to login to https://joinindiancoastguard.cdac.in and follow the instructions for registering with email ID/mobile number. The candidates are to ensure validity of e-mail and mobile number at east up to 31 Dec 2024.
(b) Multi options entry scheme: Candidates who fulfill eligibility criteria for both General Duty branch and Technical branches as mentioned in paragraph 2 may apply for both the branches indicating Option-I and Option-II. During processing of Stage-I result and shortlisting for Stage-II (PSB), candidates will be considered only in the branch of their first preference. Consideration of second preference will be effective only at the time of preparation of final merit list.
